About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience providing direct therapy and mental health services to children, teens, and families. I’d always known that therapy was my passion since taking my first psychology class in high school, leading to pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Central Florida. I continued on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage in Family Therapy at Pepperdine University whilst working full time at a non-public school in Sherman Oaks with students with significant emotional distress and/or co-occurring Autism.
During my time working in county mental health, the question I was most often asked upon students transitioning out of high school was: Do you have a private practice? The work of trying to prepare and connect graduating seniors and their families to mental health supports outside of school showed me just how much of a challenge it could be to find someone who supports that time in between adolescence to adulthood. I observed similar difficulties as well for the young adults and professionals I encountered who found themselves in need of mental health support for the first time, or for the first time in adulthood, and uncertain of how to find help. This is what led me to shift my focus to providing care for these sometimes unsteady times in life for youth and young adults.
Major Life Transitions
Significant transitions in life, whether it be from high school to college, college to your first salaried job, promotions, moving into independence at whatever stage of life you are in can be exciting, but also daunting. It can bring unexpected pressures, that for some is overwhelming and starts to feel a lot like anxiety.
The need to get everything just right. Questioning of your skills. Maybe even your first experience of underperforming... I want to work with you through that to experience the fullness of what these opportunities have to offer and rediscover, or build, your confidence.
